Unicom attends Goldman Sachs’ Businesses Summit
Unicom Teleservices (Unicom), a leading customized answering and call center was represented by President and Founder Patricia Fox at the 2018 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Businesses Summit, in Washington, D.C. on February 13th and 14th.
The exclusive event gathered together for the first-time thousands of alumni from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Business program. Participants were exposed to almost 40 prominent and influential speakers from a myriad of industries. Warren Buffet, Michael Bloomberg, and Sir Richard Branson made the list of well-known industry heavy-weights.
We wanted to talk with Patricia and get her insights after attending this powerful event.
When did you participate in the Goldman Sachs program?
“I participated and graduated from the very first Chicago Cohort in 2012. I was excited and considered it an honor to be invited.”
Why did you join the program?
“It seemed like an awesome opportunity to learn and gain incredible knowledge, insights, and guidance from notable business leaders that previously I could only dream of having access to.”
How has the program helped Unicom and you as a business leader?
“The program offered a tremendous focus on acquiring not only the knowledge but actionable pathways to create a truly competitive edge for Unicom. In addition, I was reminded about the importance and power of keeping myself and Unicom relevant in today’s market with sound strategy.”
What motivated you to attend this year’s event?
Once again, having the opportunity and access to our country’s top business leaders and our government representatives was inspiring and motivating. In addition, being able to connect with my cohort members as well as fellow business leaders from across the country was the ultimate networking opportunity.
You had the opportunity to engage with our nation’s leaders, how was that experience?
It was surreal experience as we listened to and learned from our nation’s leaders. The talks were engaging but more importantly it gave our leaders an opportunity to meet us and learn of our challenges and accomplishments. I personally had the great experience to meet Senators Coons, Kaine and Booker. Each of them we’re very kind and thoughtful in their questions and responses with me. I have brought it all back to Unicom!
What was your big takeaway from the Goldman Sachs event?
Attending the Summit was a return to the enthusiasm, motivation and inspiration of fellow business owners and entrepreneurs I had experienced in 2012.
