Unicom Teleservice’s CEO Patricia Fox and COO Carla Perry-Carey joined Moraine Valley Community College in a business-led workforce development program aimed at training and assisting in identifying skills to meet the current needs of employers.  The PLUS+ Project is focused on job seekers age 50 and older who have experienced job loss due to the economic climate or who are looking to change careers to industries in need.

MVCC is one of 15 community colleges selected nationally by the American Association of Community Colleges, AARP Foundation and Walmart to receive a two-year $165,200 grant.  The college will connect 50+ job candidates to specific in-demand jobs in the call center industry, home health care, and retail.

Unicom’s Patricia Fox encouraged the 50+ job seekers to take advantage of this “great opportunity” to engage with local employers and receive training and coaching assistance.  She advised that Unicom is partnering with Moraine Valley.  Unicom Teleservices Inc., is a Live Agent  24 x 7 Call Center with a focus in Help Desk, Healthcare, Property Management, Airline, and multi-location support.

Job candidates can register at 1-855-850-2525 (select option two) to attend an information session at Moraine Valley.  During this session in the Fogelson Theater (Building T), they will learn how the 50+ program can help them update their personal skills, understand the employment marketplace, and aim at improving skill levels required in a Call and Contact Center.
